Here we are, most likely feeling the strong swirling energies of the eclipses. Time to take it all in, ground into Mother Earth and trust that the energies we are feeling are our very own personal evolutionary spirals activating and undulating us toward our next level expression and embodiment.

We must trust in this movement as it shakes open our hearts and helps to dislodge the places that have been stuck. We must ask the deeper questions so we can uncover the root hurt/idea/perception/ unmet need that has kept us bound in a reactionary pattern. 

Time to unravel our own myth, untangle the knots and open our heart to all the infinite possibilities that exist and all the infinite love and magic that makes All of Creation so vibrantly alive.

Jupiter has been in and out of a square with Pluto since November. It was strong in early spring and is concluding now. The final exact aspect between them is happening today, but has been building up over the last week and will still influence the next few weeks.⠀

Jupiter is the planet of our beliefs, truth, ideals, overdoing, overindulging, opinions, expansion, and freedom. In a square with Pluto, this could bring about obsessions, tensions, fears, manipulation, forcefulness, jealousy, or issues around resources and power in relation to those things. Pluto can even bring up the deeper and darker aspects of 'truth' as well. An example of some of this energy playing out is the 'pizzagate' story and the controversy around accusations of 'fake news' towards both mainstream and alternative media.⠀

In our personal lives, the potential negative manifestations were more likely to occur late last year and earlier this year, yet they can still play out during this time. However, now that it has been concluding there is more potential for resolutions and/or moving beyond those types of challenges that have come up.⠀

It is possible that what has been occurring in your life could be related to some of the themes or beliefs initiated between Fall 2007 and early 2008. However, Its energies this time around could more resemble what was happening from May 2010 until early 2011, especially that summer. Jupiter has been in Libra since last September until this October, a time of expansiveness in social connections, relationships, and anything to do with achieving fairness, equality, and balance. This energy can also drive us to feel like we can accomplish more, however in that process we may have to deal with some changes that could come up in the coming weeks considering we are entering eclipse season and Mercury will be retrograde soon.⠀

This is the first of the 2 eclipses bookending a time of intensity and major opportunity for growth.

The Full Moon is a perfect time to set your intentions based on what you have been able to evaluate and re-evaluate about your life, where you have been and where you wish to go. 
Make sure to give this more than lip service or a fleeting acknowledgment. The time you put in right now will have lasting results so don’t waste the opportunity. Also honor this Full Moon as a gateway or a portal, like opening the door to this great potential of a powerful RESET for the areas that need it in your life. This portal stays open until the full solar eclipse on August 21. The time between the 2 eclipses is very powerful and could be intense and chaotic with lots of movement and action, some difficult and unwelcome, and some, a welcome breakthrough.
Best if you really work this time to your advantage and use it well. Don't get distracted by other peoples chaotic process. Stay to your own focus, intentions and reevaluation. The next eclipse will be a marker for a huge reset.

The main theme for August is RE-EVALUATION/RESET.
 

This is a month providing a huge opportunity for re-evaluating what you are doing in your life, clearing out what doesn’t work, and going for massive change. It is an intense month of emotional ups and downs, confusion about what is right and dealing with hard truths.

It is also a month where we take what we “just DID” in July, re-evaluate its place in our lives and then either take it to the next level or decide it is not for us. When you “go for” something new, you have to change your set routines to allow the space (and time) for it to take hold. This usually means that something else that was an energetic place holder has to be shifted and/or released. Sometimes this happens naturally but most of the time it takes a conscious choice and commitment. We will get a lot of opportunities to make new choices and move things around to accommodate the new aspects we wish to anchor.

This month we have times that are truly instinctively centered (good for re-evaluation) and times that are higher emotionally centered, giving us a point of reference for where we want to end up in our reset. It will feel like a yo-yo at times, moving between the two. Much flexibility and non-judgment is required.

There are some great lessons in letting go this month; of old dreams, clothing you haven’t worn in years, family heirlooms that no longer fit your lifestyle, outdated relationships, and all those things that “someday may be useful” or “someday you will get to”. It is time to lighten your load and at the same time release whatever emotional baggage from the past that has surfaced in the last few weeks.

Forgiveness, neutrality, and not taking things personally will be key to navigating this month, as well as acceptance and allowing for a reset at the deepest level. A reset often means that whatever was before is gone, has ended or transformed. Using the spirit of death as an ally this month will be very useful in working with the energy or RESET. Think of the internet that goes offline and has to be reset by unplugging it and then connecting it back up. This will be true for whatever needs to be reset in your life as well. You may find yourself “going off-line” either voluntarily (such as stopping everything and going off by yourself unplugged like doing a solo), or involuntarily going off-line where things in your life just come to a standstill and you have no energy to even get out of bed in the morning.

The Solar eclipse on August 21, 2017 falls in the sign of Leo, the Divine Child – the innocent heart, the soul of magic and wonder.  Leo rules the heart and the vitality of the Self: it encourages us to open our hearts to love for others and for ourselves. Ruled by the Sun itself, Leo is the essence of Kingship – the divine and royal part of ourselves that is full of self-respect and kindness.  Leo encourages us to express our best selves and while Leo is associated with the need for admiration, ultimately our best selves find expression without the need for others’ notice and attention.  Creative self-expression and the courage and confidence to allow our inner beauty to be expressed through outward means are the force behind the Leo New Moon.
A solar eclipse occurs at the New Moon, when the Sun and Moon are conjunct (next to each other) in the sky.  As the Moon moves through its orbit it passes between the Sun and the Earth, briefly obscuring the light of the Sun.  A New Moon is only an eclipse when the lunation (Sun/Moon conjunction) occurs near the lunar nodes, the points where the Moon crosses the path of the Sun.  Here is where astrology gets involved:  The descending (South) and ascending (North) nodes of the Moon represent a path of Fate from the past (South Node) to the future (North Node).  For this reason, an astrological eclipse can bring about events that have enormous significance, especially if they fall on a point in someone’s individual chart.

The chart this eclipse is a fiery one!  This is the second Leo New Moon in a month, and at nearly (28 degrees 50 minutes) the last degree of Leo, completing a pattern around self-actualization and ego development.  We see not only the Sun and Moon with the North Node in Leo, but we also have Mars in Leo (action and courage) in a Grand Fire Trine with Saturn in Sagittarius (testing of ideologies and beliefs) and Uranus in Aries (the power of the individual to create change).  Fire Grand Trines facilitate action but are not always self-aware (air) or pragmatic (earth) enough to create smart and well reasoned strategies.  The harmonious trine between Uranus and the eclipse is just about exact, making this a powerful harmonic integration of individuality and soul purpose.

Saturn and Mercury are retrograde, suggesting that there will be further tests before a plan is brought to fruition. Pluto in Capricorn (breakdown of power structures and transformation) is in a challenging square to Jupiter in Libra (positive relationships) which could be a harbinger of a further breakdown of political alliances, especially in the US where the eclipse is most visible.

On a transformational and psychological level, eclipses are associated with the unmasking of something which has been hidden.   The unconscious motivations and hidden dreams of the lunar force temporarily obscures the solar force of consciousness and the power of the will.  In the heart-opening sign of Leo, this is an opportunity to ask for the courage to love unconditionally – to clear any blockages of fear and distress which shut down the creative force.  That creative loving force is the power behind our inspiration as well as our life force and physical energy.  Leo rules the physical heart which is powered by the emotional heart of the Moon, and in this New Moon the force of divine love is as strong as it can get.
